Dr. Maire Finn
While being in fulltime practice in Ennis since 1998, Dr Máire Finn is also well-known in the media, giving advice on “Today with Claire Byrne” fortnightly, among other things. “I’ve been passionate about providing complete and honest medical care and guidance to women and families throughout my career,” she says, a mantra she has followed ever since she qualified at the National University or Ireland Galway in 1993, and then completed her GP training in 1995.
Máire is deeply engaged with all aspects of female health – contraception, fertility, pregnancy, menopause and beyond – as well as children’s health, and adolescent sexual and mental health. She loves interacting with her patients and learning from them because, as she says, “You are your own best health advocate.” She is mother to two daughters and two “large but adorable dogs”. She also loves hurling, music, poetry, and “the odd pint of Guinness”.
