Dr. Saheera Butt

Dr Saheera Ali Butt first qualified as a doctor in 1990 at Ayub Medical College, Pakistan, but
her learning did not stop there. As well as holding MBBS, MICGP, DCh, Dip Dermatology,
and Dip Musculoskeletal Medicine, Saheera has received comprehensive LARC (long acting
reversible contraception) training.

Growing up, Saheera enjoyed academics and was self-motivated, with very encouraging
parents. To this day, she says, “I am always joining a new course to keep myself updated,”
although dermatology and women’s health remain her twin passions.

“I love being able to help sick people when they are very vulnerable and it gives me immense
satisfaction when people heal mentally and physically,” she explains.

Saheera is married with two sons, and they are “all doctors in the household” – except for the
beloved family cat Maxine, who is nonetheless “very intelligent!”

Saheera also has a treasured grandson, good friends, and enjoys travelling, sightseeing,
gardening, and watching historical and National Geographic programmes on the television.
She winds down by reading, and particularly relishes history, Islamic literature, and the
Quran, with meanings.

In her own life, Saheera embodies the advice she would like her patients to follow: “Eat a
healthy balanced diet, be active, learn how to rest, do everything in moderation, and meditate
regularly.”
